Parent Information

Welcome to the Parents section of our website.

As a parent, there is always a lot of information to wade through so I have put all the information I think you might need in one place. If you think anything is missing please let me know. I have also put together a FAQ as a quick reference point.

Frequently Asked Questions (will open in a new window)

We send out a regular newsletter once a term to keep you up-to-date with the schools news and this is also available on the website to download along with other letters you may need to refer to from time to time.

Please also take some time to read through the schools policies. These all conform to Council of Dance Education and Training professional guidelines making us one of the first schools in the area to become a Recognised School. For further information on the CDET Recognised Awards go to www.cdet.org.uk/part-time-learning/recognised-schools

Exams

The school has successfully been entering pupils for both grade and vocational exams since 2002. We have exam sessions regularly and when we feel a child is ready to be entered for an examination we will contact you. The exams require an extremely high standard of dancing and a complete knowledge of the syllabus, therefore it is vital that all classes are attended. In addition to their regular class, the children will need to attend an extra lesson per week for the term of the exam. This gives the children the strength and confidence required for the exam. However, the exam system is not suitable for everyone and you may not wish to go down this route. We believe that dancing should be fun, and pupils can learn the work and move up the grades when appropriate.
